Objectives

The overall objective is to evaluate competitiveness of advanced gasification based WtE process in comparison to fluidised bed combustion technology and incineration based on more conventional grate firing.

The specific objectives are:
•  detailed monitoring of two alternative WtE technologies
•  detailed monitoring of emissions of alternative WtE technologies
•  determination of environmental impacts
• assessment of costs related to alternative WtE technologies
•  assessment of costs related to alternative waste management chains
•  assessment of performance of waste management chains
