Objectives

The overall objective is to secure successful implementation of Lahti type WtE gasification power plant and significantly improve paper and plastics material recovery in the waste utilisation chain.

The specific objectives are:
• control and improve the quality of SRF/RDF for high efficiency power plant processes
• implement successfully the new CEN solid recovered fuel standard practices
• control and improve the human occupational healthy aspects in waste processing chain
• form the interactive link of SRF/RDF ash composition, material separation techniques to gasifier behaviour and ash end use
• assessment and planning of innovative gas powered waste trucks serving the Lahti supply chain, including the plastic baling of the SRF/RDF products for transport optimization
• possibilities to combine biogas and natural as a vehicle fuel (a study)
• influence on CEN standardisation CEN TC 343 of SRF, interactive preparation of BAT documents related to waste processing and incineration
